Cyclone Ditwah lashes Tamil Nadu and Sri Lanka

Cyclone Ditwah has been hammering Tamil Nadu's coast since November 28, bringing heavy rain and flooding to several regions.
The storm is moving toward North Tamil Nadu and Puducherry, with more downpours expected until December 1.

What's happening on the ground?

Tamil Nadu has seen serious flooding and property damage, but thankfully no lives lost so far.
In Sri Lanka, though, the cyclone's impact has been tragic, with at least 159 people reported dead.
India is stepping up with Operation Sagar Bandhu—sending relief supplies by air and sea to Colombo—and there's now an emergency help desk at Colombo airport to support stranded Indian travelers.
