Fear of 'Mango' Mishra deters Kolkata law college attendance

A 24-year-old first-year law student at South Calcutta Law College was allegedly gang-raped inside the college guard room on June 25 by a former student, Monojit Mishra, and two co-accused students, Zaib Ahmed and Pramit Mukhopadhyay.
She was threatened with a recorded video. Medical reports confirmed serious assault injuries.

Accused arrested, college fired guard

All three accused—and a security guard who allegedly helped—have been arrested.
The college has expelled the students involved, fired Mishra from his job, and is pushing to cancel his Bar Council membership after criticism for rehiring him despite his past record of harassment.
Classes are suspended indefinitely as investigations continue and students protest for safer campuses.
