G20: India wants to share traditional knowledge with the world
At the G20 Summit in South Africa, PM Modi pitched a global "Traditional Knowledge Repository"—think of it as a digital library for ancient wisdom and sustainable ways of living from different cultures.
He pointed to India's own Indian Knowledge Systems (IKS) project, which brings subjects like Ayurveda and Vedic math into classrooms, as a model for this idea.
Why it matters: education, equality, and digital access
The G20 leaders agreed that better access to education and knowledge is key for tackling global inequality.
They're aiming to get more women into STEM fields, fix gaps in early childhood education, and close the gender digital divide by 2030.
The plan also puts a spotlight on building strong digital infrastructure so everyone can benefit from learning—no one gets left behind as the world goes digital.
