#HealthBytes: Five natural ways to get gorgeous skin

Everyone wants clear, glowing, and beautiful-looking skin. But modern diet and lifestyles are a huge hindrance in achieving it. Plus, our increasingly packed work schedules make it extremely tough to maintain good skin health. However, good news is that by adopting simple and natural ways, you can get golden-glowing skin. Here are five natural ways to get gorgeous skin.

First and foremost, drink plenty of water

For more reasons than one, staying dehydrated is a bad idea. Amongst other things, it is detrimental for your skin. So, make sure you drink plenty of water for glowing and healthy skin. It will help flush out toxins and improve blood flow. Doctors usually recommend a daily intake of 8 to 12 glasses for overall good health.

Keep your exposure to sun in check

It's a no brainer to minimize your sun exposure if you want a healthier skin. But mind it, sun can enter your space in many ways. Sometimes, indoor sun-rays trespassing at home, in office, or in cars can also damage your skin health. We suggest you to always use a sunscreen and wear full-sleeve clothing to reduce your indoor sun-exposure.

    Say goodbye to stress

A Stanford University study suggests that students who feel more tensed during exam time have more severe acne-breakouts than the ones who are stress-free. Stress releases certain hormones in body, like cortisol, that are responsible for making skin oilier and can reduce its ability to fight-off acne causing bacteria. To keep stress at bay, try recreational activities like going for walks, running, meditation, yoga.

Ensure sufficient, good quality sleep on a daily basis

Research finds that not getting enough sleep can cause acne and other skin problems. This is because lack of sleep induces stress, which as mentioned earlier, releases coritsol and other hormones, that are ultimately going to ruin your skin. So, we suggest you to make it a habit to get satisfying, sound 7-8 hours of sleep each night.

Go for natural skincare products only

Certain packaged skin and hair care products, ie. conditioners, creams etc. can block the pores on your skin and cause acne, and other skin issues. A general piece of advice would be to avoid the products that contain wax or oil in them, and opt for more natural products like water-based ones.

    Other handy hacks

You can also use some natural, homemade face packs to clean your skin. Some of the best options are lemon and honey mix, aloe vera gel, and turmeric-and-milk face pack. That apart, you can also use steam facial or apply ice to improve skin health.
