India says it's ready for any oil supply hiccups, with enough reserves to last 74 days, even as tensions rise near the Strait of Hormuz.
The country's got a mix of crude oil, gasoline, diesel, and LPG stored up to keep things running smoothly if imports slow down.

India can handle short-term disruptions

Roughly 40-52% of India's crude imports transit the Strait of Hormuz.
But thanks to smart planning, like keeping around 100 million barrels of combined commercial and strategic stocks and buying from different countries, India can handle short-term disruptions.
Russian imports have increased since 2022 but have fluctuated month-to-month, US LPG deliveries began in January 2026, and local refineries are stepping up production so there's no need to panic about fuel shortages.
