Saurabh Shukla is an Indian actor, film director, and screenwriter born on March 5, 1963. Shukla began his career by working in theater in 1986 and has appeared in plays such as 'A View From The Bridge' (Arthur Miller), 'Look Back in Anger' (John Osborne), 'Ghashiram Kotwal' (Vijay Tendulkar), and 'Hayvadan'. His most significant break came in 1998 when he co-wrote the script for Ram Gopal Varma's cult classic 'Satya' and played the role of a gangster called "Kallu Mama" in the movie. For this film, Shukla received the Star Screen Award for Best Screenplay alongside Anurag Kashyap. Some of his notable acting performances were in films such as 'Satya' (1998), 'Yuva' (2004), 'Barfi!' (2012), 'Jolly LLB' (2013), 'Kick' (2014), 'PK '(2014), 'Jolly LLB 2' (2017), and 'Raid' (2018), among others. In 2014, he was awarded the National Film Award for Best Supporting Actor for his role in the black comedy film 'Jolly LLB'. In 2003, he won the Zee Cine Award for Best Screenplay for 'Calcutta Mail'.
