Director's praise
'Would have loved to experience it in cinemas'
In his Instagram post, Kashyap wrote, "SUBEDAAR on @primevideoin should have been a theatrical. Would have loved to experience it in cinemas; it's clearly shot on anamorphic for the big screen, designed for the big screen." He praised Triveni for creating an "immersive world of Bundelkhand/Chambal with its patriarchy and entitlement." "The world has not changed since, in fact, it has gotten worse. And in that world comes our SUBEDAAR."
Cast commendation
Kashyap lauded the film's action sequences, cinematography
Kashyap went on to praise the performances of Kapoor, Faisal Malik, Radhikka Madan, Saurabh Shukla, Aditya Rawal, and Mona Singh. He wrote that Kapoor "carries the simmering fire in him through the film," while Malik's performance was "super." He also lauded Madan as "fiery and vulnerable" and said he needs to see more of her.
