India's major reservoirs experience storage surge

India's big reservoirs are now over 40% full—sitting at about 43%—after an early and rainy monsoon season.
Some southern dams like Krishna Raja Sagara and Mettur are almost overflowing, and five others have already hit full capacity.

TL;DR

South dams almost overflowing

The south is leading the way, with its reservoirs more than half full, which is great news for farmers as the kharif crop season begins.
Other regions are catching up too.
With more rain expected in July (IMD says rainfall should be "normal"), water levels will likely rise even further—meaning a solid boost for agriculture and fewer worries about water shortages in the coming months.
