Kerala: Heavy rain brings southern districts to a standstill

Southern Kerala got drenched on Tuesday, with heavy rain flooding streets and slowing down traffic.
The showers, sparked by a low-pressure system over the Bay of Bengal, hit places like Kayamkulam hard—Alappuzha alone saw 118.5mm of rain.

Orange alert issued, more rain on the way

The IMD has bumped up its alert to orange for Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, and Alappuzha, warning of very heavy rainfall in the next day.
While things might ease up briefly midweek, another low-pressure area could form by November 22—so expect more wet days ahead as Kerala's November rain deficit starts to shrink.
