Later that night, the trio took him to a canal bridge—first trying to strangle him with a dupatta, then throwing him into the water when he survived.
Anil's brother reported him missing the next day, which kicked off a police investigation.
Officers have since recovered evidence like the dupatta and leftover pills from Kajal's home; divers are still searching for Anil's body in the canal.
