MNS workers thrash migrant man for not speaking Marathi
In Nashik, Maharashtra, a migrant worker named Baidyanath Pandit was allegedly attacked by MNS workers after he accidentally bumped into a neighbor's vehicle while learning to drive on August 21, 2025.
The situation escalated from a simple argument to physical violence when local MNS members got involved.
Pandit's wife was also slapped
A video of the incident shows the workers questioning Pandit about speaking Marathi, telling him, "He then told Pandit that he 'should learn Marathi' if he didn't know the language."
Pandit later said his wife was also slapped and "They told us we are outsiders and would kick us out of here."
Police have filed a non-cognizable report and are investigating.
Sadly, this isn't the first time language issues have led to such tensions in Maharashtra.
