Monsoon progresses into central and east India after delay

The southwest monsoon is finally picking up again, with the IMD saying rain will hit parts of Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, and nearby states over the next couple of days. Expect heavy showers in regions like Konkan, Goa, and Maharashtra as the monsoon spreads further.

Northern India might see cooler temperatures

This rain is a big deal for farmers and water supplies but comes with some risks—think possible local flooding and rough seas along the coasts. The IMD has warned fishermen to be extra careful, and northern India could see cooler temps thanks to thunderstorms. Even with this progress, rainfall for June is still about 31% below normal so far, so every drop counts right now.
