Mother-Son duo charged for fraudulent airstrip sale

A mother and son from Punjab, Usha Ansal and Naveen Chand, are facing serious charges for allegedly faking documents and selling an Indian Air Force airstrip near the India-Pakistan border back in 1997.
The airstrip isn't just any piece of land—it's a strategic spot used by the IAF during past wars.
The two reportedly worked with some officials to pull off the sale.

TL;DR

How the scam was uncovered

The case only started moving after whistleblower Nishan Singh filed a complaint, which led to a court-ordered investigation.
Earlier warnings from Air Force officials had been ignored until then. Thanks to this probe, the IAF got its land back last month.
Now, police are digging deeper—Deputy Superintendent Karan Sharma is leading efforts to find everyone involved and make sure this kind of thing doesn't happen again.
The duo has been booked under multiple IPC sections for cheating, forgery, and criminal conspiracy.
