Mountaineer rescued from Mount Denali, contacts family

Sheikh Hassan Khan, a mountaineer from Kerala, is safe after being stranded on Alaska's Mount Denali during a severe storm.
He managed to contact his family after descending from 17,000 to 13,000 feet, and officials confirmed his safety to the Indian government.

Denali National Park rangers are now helping Khan and his climbing partner finish their descent. The rescue was sped up by coordinated efforts from Indian authorities.
Khan had set out on June 4 to honor the Indian Army's Operation Sindoor by planting the national flag on Denali but ran into trouble when supplies ran low and he had to send an SOS for help.
