No power in parts of Bengaluru this weekend? Here's why
Heads up, Bengaluru! BESCOM has planned power cuts across the city this weekend (March 7-8, 2026) for essential maintenance on transformers and cables.
It's all about making the grid more reliable as demand keeps rising.
Which areas will be affected?
Expect outages in Whitefield, K.R. Puram, Marathahalli, Mahadevapura (east), Yelahanka and Hebbal (north), plus B.T.M. Layout, J.P. Nagar, Jayanagar, and parts of Electronic City (south).
Some nearby layouts might be hit too.
How to prepare for the outage?
Most cuts are set between 9am and 6pm but could shift to shorter windows like 10am to 5pm or even end early.
Best move: charge your devices, save water if you rely on pumps, and plan your day so you're not caught off guard.
