    Over 14 lakh budget posts on Twitter in one week
  • Twitter India registered more than 14 lakh budget-related posts in the last one week (January 26-February 2), it recently revealed.

    PM Narendra Modi was the most mentioned personality and healthcare the most discussed topic.

    "Soon after the Budget speech, the conversations on the platform peaked at February 1, 2:30pm with over 83,000 tweets," Twitter said in a statement.

  • The most controversial reforms by the NDA-led government were among the most talked-about topics on Twitter India. After healthcare, demonetization, agriculture, personal income tax, infrastructure and Goods and Services Tax (GST) were the key issues discussed.

    Finance Minister Arun Jaitley was the most mentioned personality after PM Modi. Next followed BJP President Amit Shah, Congress leader P Chidambaram and Chief Economic Adviser Arvind Subramanian.

    It enabled users to watch the speech, the talkathon that followed and participate in a live Q&A with Jaitley.

    It also brought the budget discussions to Twitter Lite, its mobile platform, for those wanting more data-driven information.

    Notably, Twitter registered over 240,000 budget-related posts in January, double the volume in December.
