Ricin terror plot accused injured in jail clash
Dr. Ahmed Mohiyuddin Saiyed, accused in a suspected Ricin-based terror plot, was hurt during a fight at Ahmedabad's Sabarmati Central Jail just hours after being moved there.
Gujarat's Deputy Chief Minister Harsh Sanghvi said the government is looking into the incident and ensured that the accused will have to face the law.
What investigators have found so far
The Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) says Saiyed had started gathering ingredients like castor oil—used to make Ricin—and an unknown chemical from his Hyderabad home is now being tested.
No solid evidence was found at other suspects' homes in Uttar Pradesh.
The ATS also clarified that Saiyed isn't linked to the recent Delhi car blast, but they did find firearms with him and suspect he was getting instructions from an Afghanistan-based handler tied to ISIS-K.
