Thane: Two-year-old boy survives 20-foot fall into open sewer

In Thane, a two-year-old boy named Hamdan Gufran Qureshi survived a 20-foot fall into an open sewer while walking with his mom near Dnyanasadhana College.
The accident happened on Tuesday, but quick-thinking locals rushed to help after hearing his mother's cries.

Fast rescue and medical care

Neighbors pulled Hamdan out before emergency teams arrived, getting him to the hospital right away.
He was treated first at a government hospital and then moved to a private hospital for extra care.
Thanks to everyone's fast response, he got the help he needed in time.

Safety concerns spark action

The open sewer was caused by an iron pipe blocking the lid, which officials have now fixed.
Yasin Tadvi from Disaster Management called for urgent steps to prevent such incidents from happening again.
