UAE doctor pledges aid for Air India crash victims

Dr. Shamsheer Vayalil, an Indian doctor based in the UAE, is donating ₹6 crore to support families affected by the recent Air India crash in Ahmedabad. The tragedy took several lives, including five medical students from BJ Medical College. The funds will reach families through the college's Junior Doctors's Association.

TL;DR

How the funds will be distributed

Each of four deceased students' families will receive ₹1 crore, while five seriously injured students and doctors' families who lost loved ones get ₹20 lakh each. It's a big gesture aimed at helping those hit hardest by the accident.

Doctor's past philanthropic efforts

This isn't Dr. Vayalil's first time helping out—he previously pledged ₹50 crore for Kerala flood relief and has joined Bill Gates and Warren Buffett's "Giving Pledge" to donate half his wealth to charity. His actions show a steady commitment to supporting people in crisis moments.
