UP: Godown-owner strips minor, thrashes him suspecting theft; one arrested
What's the story
A shocking and inhumane incident was reported from Uttar Pradesh's Firozabad. A 14-year-old boy was allegedly stripped naked, hung upside down and thrashed mercilessly by godown owner on suspicion of stealing steel pipes. The barbaric attack was filmed and the video went viral on social media. A police complaint was registered and one person was arrested, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Rahul Yadvendu said.
What happened
As owner tortured kid, godown workers filmed the act
The minor's father Riyazuddin alleged the godown owner took his son with him on June 24 and tortured him for nearly three hours. The workers in godown recorded the act. The child claimed he was hung upside down for almost five hours. Reportedly, the owner had earlier approached the police accusing the boy of theft, but no action was taken in the absence of proof.

Sadly, this is not the first time minor was beaten
Before this brutal act, another similar incident had caught attention. In May this year, a 16-year-old boy was tied to a tree in Uttar Pradesh's Etah district. The boy was accused of stealing muskmelons by the unidentified man. Further, in June, a minor boy was beaten by a group of people for allegedly stealing money from a local teacher in Odisha's Angul district.
