Summer Olympics

Aquatics Centre: France

The Aquatics Center, built for the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris, has embraced a new approach to construction and sustainability prioritizing sustainability through mass timber construction and repurposing existing facilities. With a 6,000-spectator capacity, it adopts a curved roof design for energy efficiency, reducing volume and heating consumption. The venue will also transform into a Paralympic boccia stadium after hosting aquatic events.

Bridge

Simon-Veil Bridge, France

Construction is underway for OMA's Simone-Veil Bridge in Bordeaux, with initial metal framework on the Garonne River's right bank. The 44-meter bridge is designed to accommodate cars, bikes and other public transport while a large surface is dedicated to pedestrians in Bordeaux. Different sections of the bridge can be closed off at any time and be transformed into a temporary event space.

Motorcycle Amphitheater

Motorcycle amphitheatre, USA

Heatherwick Studio, backed by The Harley-Davidson Foundation, has designed a park by Harley-Davidson's Milwaukee headquarters, featuring a motorcycle amphitheater for 700 bikes during rallies. Surrounded by greenery, the 83-meter sunken events space includes tiered seating, motorcycle driveways, and 360-degree viewpoints. Constructed with 10 local brick types and weathering steel, it integrates seamlessly with 20 tree species and 120 plant varieties, creating a dynamic environment.

Concert Hall

Philharmonic concert hall: China

Beijing's China Philharmonic Concert Hall marks a pivotal moment in the city's cultural scene. As the permanent home for the esteemed China Philharmonic Orchestra, the 26,000-square-meter venue aims to become a global stage for musical excellence and a cultural nexus for international artistic exchange. Emphasizing tranquility, it features a lotus pond and lush greenery, while the fluid facade diffuses daylight like a translucent curtain.
