What's the story

Michael Jordan is one of the most celebrated basketball players who acquired several honors and accolades to his name before he finally retired. And for the die-hard fans of this legendary Chicago Bulls player, there is an opportunity that can help them 'shoe' their love for their favorite basketball sensation! Well, the news is that Jordan's game-worn Converse sneakers are now under the hammer.

Auction

Jordan wore these shoes at the 1983 Pan-American Games

Jordan's Converse shoes, which are believed to be the earliest documented pair owned by him, are on auction. Per reports, he wore them twice at the 1983's Pan-American Games where he won his first gold medal with an average of 17.3 points. Organized by Grey Flannel Auctions, these shoes are available at a minimum bid of $10,000 and are currently being bid at $16,000.

Shoes

The shoes feature a modified ankle height, 8 eyelets

Identified as an all-star property, these white Converse resemble Pro Leather, are size 12.5, and have a modified ankle height with eight eyelets. Six bidders around the world have shown interest in buying this historic footwear as the auction closes four days from now i.e. June 11. The 1983 Team USA graduate assistant men's basketball coach has confirmed the legitimacy of these shoes.

Information

Photos and other documents have been matched for authenticity

Besides the coach's testimony, photo-matching from two separate entities RGU and Resolution Photo Matching, also contribute to the veracity of both, the shoes and the online auction. The bidding price is likely to go up as the auction is expecting more bidders.

Another pair

Another pair worn by Jordan is up for grabs

Besides this pair of Converse, Jordan's shoes that he wore 26 years ago at the famous "flu game" in the 1997 NBA Finals are being auctioned as well. And if reports are to be believed, they come with an autograph of the man himself! Listed just a little over $1 million, you can bid them on Goldin online auction before June 14.
