    What's the story

Pregnant women obviously face a hard time when their water breaks unexpectedly at odd locations, and they are forced to give birth there.

However, often these turn out to be successful, thanks to some Samaritans.

Recently, one such incident took place at the bustling Dadar Railway station, when Mumbai Police, using their quick wits and donning the Samaritan cap, helped a woman give birth.

    Details

Woman started experiencing labor pains while waiting for a train

On the eve of December 25, a 21-year-old woman, Geeta Deepak Wagare, went into labor while she and her husband were waiting for a train to Pune at Dadar Railway station.

According to the CCTV visuals from the platform, the woman was lying in distress on the floor as her husband went looking for help.

Soon, passers-by and police personnel rushed to her help.

    Delivery

Three women, including police personnel, held bedsheets to cover Geeta

In no time, three women, including two police personnel improvised a makeshift labor room for Geeta.

The three women held two bedsheets around her as she delivered the baby.

A 24x7 medical assistance team also rushed to her aid, and helped her give birth.

The child was delivered safely, and both the child and the mother were immediately admitted to a hospital.

    Past incident

Previously, another woman delivered a child at railway station

This wasn't the first time a baby was born at a railway station in India.

In September, a 27-year-old woman, traveling from Mumbai to Lucknow, delivered a child on a platform of Bhusawal Railway station in Maharashtra's Jalgaon district.

She started experiencing labor pains a few moments before the train arrived at the station.

Later, passengers took her to the railway hospital.
