Mumbai Police's 'Mowgli' tweet has an important message for society

Mumbai Police has a knack of giving civic lessons through their quick-witted tweets and they're quite commendable. Their tweets often garner massive attention and also see references from hot current topics. In their latest tweet, they have used the cartoon characters of Rudyard Kipling's The Jungle Book- Mowgli and Kaa, to convey a special message about fighting drugs. Here's more on this.

Mumbai Police advises to not let drugs control our lives

On Monday, Mumbai Police's official Twitter handle tweeted a picture that read, "Don't let drugs suffocate the life out of you #SayNoToDrugs." The picture was of a scene in the cartoon, where the python Kaa coils Mowgli's body and hypnotizes him in order to kill him by suffocation. The tweet gave out a lesson to not allow drugs take control over your life.

Drug menace has spread its roots all over India

Mumbai Police is not out of place with their advice. Drug menace is still a concerning issue in India. In fact, worse thing is for most the habit starts in their teenage years, the formative years of a human being, according to a NCPCR study. Also, the drug menace isn't limited to Punjab and Delhi, but has reached Kashmir and Kerala as well.

Government strategies aside, why not have a proper de-addiction plan?

Drug abuse has also taken another form nowadays, called substance abuse, which involves sniffing glue and snorting heroin, opium, among others. While government has brought many strategies and schemes to fight the menace, there should be a meticulous plan to help addicts ditch the compulsion. It doesn't take a genius to understand that it's extremely hard to come out of it.

Mumbai Police's tweets always make us smile

Meanwhile, Mumbai Police has once again impressed netizens conveying an important message with style. Their earlier tweets on Kiki Challenge and 'My Data is My Data, None of Your Data', has earned them quite a fan following. Truth be said, their tweets are funny, trending and legendary. They sure know how to have some digital fun and the Internet is absolutely loving it.
