Chandrakant Patil: News

Born on June 10, 1959, Chandrakant Bacchu Patil is an Indian politician who is affiliated with the Bharatiya Janata Party. He began his political career with the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad, a right-wing student body, which is affiliated with the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS). In 1985, he was inducted as the Kshetriya Sangathan Mantri of the ABVP. He joined Bharatiya Janata Party in 2004 and was elected as the Vice-President of the party in 2013. He became a member of the Maharashtra Legislative Council in 2014 and has served as the Guardian Minister for Kolhapur, Sangli & Pune districts until 2019. Following BJP’s win in the 2014 Maharashtra assembly elections, Patil was inducted as a minister in the state cabinet and served as the Minister of Revenue and Minister of Public Works under the Devendra Fadnavis government. As of 2021, he represents the Kothrud constituency in the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly.
