Contribute Rs.11, 1 brick for Ram Mandir: Adityanath in Jharkhand

A month after the Supreme Court allowed for the construction of a Ram temple at the disputed Ayodhya site, Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath has asked every family in Jharkhand to contribute towards the temple. Speaking at an election rally in Jharkhand's Bagodar on Friday, Adityanath sought from each Jharkhand household a contribution of Rs. 11 and a brick. Here are more details.

Adityanath sought contributions while rallying for BJP's Nagendra Mahto

Addressing the rally for Bharatiya Janata Party candidate Nagendra Mahto, Adityanath said, "Very soon, a grand Ram temple will be built in Ayodhya. Every family should contribute Rs. 11 and a brick for the Ram temple." According to IANS, the UP CM also praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi for ushering in 'Ram Rajya' and helping end the 500-year-old Babri Masjid-Ram Janmbhoomi dispute.

SC ruled in favor of Ram temple's construction

Adityanath's call for the contribution came a day after the SC dismissed a batch of petitions seeking review of its November 9 judgment in the Ayodhya dispute case. A five-judge SC bench had unanimously ruled that the entire 2.77-acre disputed land be decreed for the construction of a Ram temple, while a separate 5-acre plot should be allocated for building a mosque in Ayodhya.

Adityanath also spoke on Article 370 at the rally

The Times of India quoted Adityanath as saying at the rally, "The PM removed Article 370 in Kashmir. Today, you can go to Kashmir, Ladakh, Jammu—the land of Ma Vaishno and Baba Amarnath and buy land. If someone has given you that right, it's Modi."

UP CM criticized Congress, RJD and CPI-ML

Adityanath also criticized the Opposition parties Congress, Rashtriya Janata Dal, and Communist Party of India (Marxist-Leninist), claiming they did not want to end the Ayodhya dispute, along with "some other parties." He also accused the parties of arousing fear following the revocation of Jammu and Kashmir's special status. He claimed there has been "no loss of life," even though reports state otherwise.

Congress speaks the language of Pakistan: Adityanath

Adityanath also commented on the ongoing uproar over the Citizenship Act. Parroting PM Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah, he said the two were trying to shelter persecuted minorities from the neighboring Pakistan, Bangladesh, and Afghanistan. He criticized the Opposition parties for opposing the law, saying, "Congress speaks the language of Pakistan." At the rally, he asked if such parties should get Jharkhand's vote.

Fourth phase of Jharkhand polls on Monday

The five-phase Jharkhand Assembly elections are currently underway. The first phase of the elections was held on November 30 followed by the second and the third phase on December 7 and December 12, respectively. The fourth phase of polling is due on December 16 and the last phase will be held on December 20. The counting of votes will take place on December 23.
