KC Tyagi is an Indian politician who was born on December 10, 1950, in Uttar Pradesh. He is a former member of the Rajya Sabha representing Bihar and also serves as the National Spokesperson and Chief General Secretary of the Janata Dal (United). Tyagi has also formerly served as the Chairman of the Parliamentary standing committee. He was also the former Chairman of Central Warehousing Corporation and the Chairman of the Committee on Papers Laid on the Table. Tyagi completed his education at Meerut University and in 1974, he started his political career. Following this, he contested the 1984 Lok Sabha elections from the Hapur-Ghaziabad constituency. He was also appointed the chief general secretary of the Yuva Janata Party. Tyagi was elected to the 9th Lok Sabha from Hapur after successfully contesting the general elections. He has also served as the chief secretary-general in Samajwadi Party between 1994-1997. Tyagi was called the Mini Chief Minister of the Western Uttar Pradesh during the government of the Samajwadi Party in the state.
