As sit-in protest enters third-day, Kejriwal trains guns on Modi

As Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal's at the L-G's office entered Day-3, the AAP chief trained his guns on PM Narendra Modi. "Aren't IAS officers merely tools being used by Modi-govt to scuttle good work done by Del govt?" he tweeted, reiterating his allegations about bureaucrats going on strike. Kejriwal and three others have refused to leave L-G's office till all their demands are met.

Kejriwal's visit to L-G's office turns into nightstay, indefinite fast

Monday evening, Kejriwal, along with Deputy CM Manish Sisodia and AAP leaders Gopal Rai and Satyender Jain, visited L-G Anil Baijal's office with a list of demands. One among them was action against officers, who they alleged have been striking for months. But the L-G dismissed the claims, blaming the Delhi Cabinet instead. They then refused to leave. Yesterday, Jain started an indefinite fast.

    What are their demands?

Their prime demands were two-fold: the AAP leaders are demanding action against 'striking' IAS officers and approval of the doorstep delivery of ration scheme. Responding, Baijal's office alleged Kejriwal had "threatened" the L-G. IAS officers in the Delhi government too denied they were striking. "Secretaries are regularly submitting weekly reports of important matters...Copies are also marked to the CM and the LG," they said.

L-G's sofas turn into beds for AAP leaders

The AAP leaders have spent their nights in the L-G's office on sofas in the waiting room. Food has been sent for them from their homes. Meanwhile, Kejriwal has announced that even Sisodia is going on a hunger strike now.

Government ties with bureaucrats unusually tense in recent times

Ties between the Delhi government and bureaucrats have been tense since Chief Secretary Anshu Prakash was allegedly assaulted by AAP members in front of Kejriwal in February. AAP termed the allegations "ludicrous," adding Prakash had refused to answer questions, and used "bad language." Monday, Kejriwal claimed the PMO was misusing CBI, ED, L-G's office and other agencies to derail the AAP government's work.
