What's the story

A head-on collision between a hatchback and an SUV near the PWD headquarters on Vikas Marg, central Delhi, left six people injured on Sunday night, according to media reports. The accident involved Anil Jha, an Aam Aadmi Party MLA from Kirari Vidhan Sabha, and Abhay Patil, a Bharatiya Janata Party MLA from Karnataka. Both were traveling in the SUV during the incident.

Swift car hit road divider before colliding with SUV

According to Deputy Commissioner of Police (Central) Rohit Ranbir Singh, the accident occurred around 9:30pm.

A 32-year-old Delhi resident, Ashutosh Pandey, was driving the Swift car with his wife and two minor children when he lost control near the PWD office.

The vehicle hit a road divider and crossed over to the opposite lane, where it collided with the SUV coming from ITO toward Laxmi Nagar.

Medical response

All 6 people involved in accident suffered minor injuries

The accident left all six people involved with minor injuries. They were rushed to Lok Nayak Hospital for treatment, and their condition is reported to be stable.

The Fire Brigade was called in to remove the damaged vehicles from the road and restore traffic flow after the collision.
