The swearing-in ceremony was held at Patna's historic Gandhi Maidan after the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) won a landslide victory in the 2025 Bihar Assembly elections. BJP leaders Samrat Choudhary and Vijay Kumar Sinha were sworn in as deputy CMs. The NDA won a historic mandate, winning 202 of the 243 seats. The Mahagathbandhan, on the other hand, could only manage to win a mere 35 seats.

Meanwhile, Tejashwi's ally, Rahul Gandhi, vowed to conduct an in-depth review of the outcome and said "we could not achieve victory in such an election that was not fair from the very beginning."
