Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Tejashwi Yadav has congratulated Janata Dal (United) chief Nitish Kumar on taking oath as Bihar's Chief Minister for the 10th time. In a post on X, he wrote, "Heartfelt best wishes to all the ministers of the Bihar government who took the oath as members of the Council of Ministers." He added, "I hope that the new government will live up to the hopes and expectations of responsible people, fulfill its promises and declarations."

NDA's historic victory in 2025 Bihar Assembly elections
The swearing-in ceremony was held at Patna's historic Gandhi Maidan after the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) won a landslide victory in the 2025 Bihar Assembly elections. BJP leaders Samrat Choudhary and Vijay Kumar Sinha were sworn in as deputy CMs. The NDA won a historic mandate, winning 202 of the 243 seats. The Mahagathbandhan, on the other hand, could only manage to win a mere 35 seats.

RJD responds to poll loss
Earlier, the RJD responded to the defeat in Bihar polls by stating that "ups and downs" are expected in elections and that the party will continue to advocate for the poor. "Public service is an unceasing process, an endless journey. Ups and downs are inevitable in it. No sorrow in defeat, no arrogance in victory. The Rashtriya Janata Dal is the party of the poor. It will continue to raise their voice among the poor," the party wrote on X.

Meanwhile, Tejashwi's ally, Rahul Gandhi, vowed to conduct an in-depth review of the outcome and said "we could not achieve victory in such an election that was not fair from the very beginning." "I express my heartfelt gratitude to those millions of voters in Bihar who expressed their trust in the Mahagathbandhan. This result in Bihar is truly surprising. We could not achieve victory in such an election that was not fair from the very beginning," Gandhi wrote on X.
