OpenAI CEO Sam Altman thinks we might see AI running whole companies—and even acting as CEO—sooner than you'd expect.
On a recent podcast, he predicted that in "some small single digit number of years," an AI could be in charge of major business decisions.

Altman is optimistic that OpenAI itself could lead the way with an AI-powered CEO.
But he also admits there's a catch: people need to actually trust AI to make those calls.
As he put it, the AI can make all sorts of decisions, but winning public confidence is key before handing over the reins.
