Amazon is giving startups free access to its AI coding tool, Kiro Pro+

Technology

Amazon just announced a sweet deal for early-stage, VC-backed startups: up to a year of free access to Kiro Pro+, its AI-powered coding assistant.
The offer covers up to 100 users per startup and was unveiled at re:Invent 2025.
If you're interested, you'll need to apply before December 31, 2025.

What makes Kiro Pro+ cool?

Kiro Pro+ helps turn your project specs into real, production-ready code using AI agents—so it's like having an extra set of (robotic) hands on your team.
It supports property-based testing (to make sure your code does what it should), lets you roll back changes with checkpointing, and works across multiple workspaces.
Since July 2025, over 250,000 developers have tried it out. Plus, it integrates with AWS IAM Identity Center for easy billing and user management.

How the free credits work

Startups can try out Kiro risk-free with these credits—especially handy if you're already using AWS.
After the free period ends, regular pricing kicks in automatically.
Heads-up: this program isn't available everywhere; countries like France, Germany, Italy, Argentina, Brazil, Mexico, and several others are excluded.
