Android 16 revamps Pixel camera with Material 3 expressive look
Google's Pixel Camera app is about to look a lot more modern, thanks to a big Material 3 Expressive redesign. The update will give the app the same stylish vibe as other Google apps like Gmail, making everything feel more connected and up-to-date. Android Authority spotted these changes early in an APK teardown, showing this is part of Google's bigger plan to refresh its apps.
More connected and up-to-date feel
The first thing you'll notice is the new Settings menu—it now has a brown background with white accents, rounded controls, and clearer spacing for easier reading. Toggles also get simple checkmarks and "x" symbols so you can instantly see what's on or off. While these updates start with Settings, Google has hinted that more features will get revamped soon. The redesigned app is expected to arrive with Android 16 later this year, though there's no official release date yet.
