Apple Watch now helps spot high blood pressure in India

Technology

Apple just rolled out its hypertension notifications for Apple Watch users in India.
Using your watch's heart sensor, it quietly tracks patterns over 30 days and lets you know if you might have chronic high blood pressure—nudging you to check in with a doctor if needed.
The feature is live for Apple Watch Series 9, 10, 11, Ultra 2, and Ultra 3 models.

Who can use it & how to get started

You'll need to be at least 22, not pregnant, and without a prior hypertension diagnosis to turn this on.
Setup takes just a few taps in the Health app.
The algorithm behind it was trained on data from over 100,000 people and tested in a clinical study—so while it's not perfect, it's pretty solid at flagging real issues.

Why this matters

Instead of reacting to random spikes, the watch looks for consistent patterns that could mean trouble down the line.
With hypertension affecting 1.3 billion people worldwide, and almost half undiagnosed, Apple hopes this tool will help more folks catch problems early—without any extra cost beyond the price of the watch.
