Ashwini Vaishnaw says Made in India chips power Chandrayaan-3 Aditya-L1
India's space missions are now running on chips designed and made right here at home, a big win for local innovation.
Union Minister for Electronics and Information Technology Ashwini Vaishnaw spotlighted their role in major projects like Chandrayaan-3 and Aditya-L1, saying, "Made in India chips are powering Indian Space Missions."
SCL Mohali has built radiation-hardened chips
The Semiconductor Laboratory (SCL) in Mohali is where a lot of this magic happens.
They have built everything from radiation-hardened chips to an India-made camera chip developed by SCL Mohali for its imaging systems during the mission to the lunar surface.
SCL's tech also helps Aditya-L1 study the Sun and powers satellite launch vehicles with its homegrown Vikram processor, pushing India closer to full-on space tech independence.
