ChatGPT can now hold group chats, but there's a catch
OpenAI is beta testing group chat and direct message features for ChatGPT, aiming to make chatting and collaborating with others a lot easier.
There's also a new "shared projects" mode coming, which remembers context from your group convos—part of OpenAI's bigger plan to turn ChatGPT into an all-in-one app.
You can set up custom responses and trigger replies
You'll be able to start a group chat in the web app with just a click, then invite others using a link.
Each group can have its own instructions, so you can set up custom responses or even trigger replies by tagging people.
Upcoming upgrades will let you react to messages, reply directly, see when someone's typing, upload files, and securely share documents—kind of like Google Docs but inside ChatGPT.
All these updates are designed to make working together way smoother.
