Now you can buy a feature phone for Rs. 249

Indian mobile users can now buy a feature phone for as less as Rs. 249. While these phones do not support 4G functionality, they can very well work to fulfill basic requirements like calling and messaging. The boom in such affordable feature phones occurred after Reliance Jio launched its JioPhone last year. We look at three feature phones that cost less than Rs. 500.

The iKall K71 phone clones Nokia 3310's design

The iKall K71 phone looks like the popular Nokia 3310 and features an 800mAh battery and a 1.4-inch display. It can offer a talk time of four hours. The single-SIM phone can be bought in the color options of red, yellow, blue and dark blue on ShopClues for a price Rs. 249. The BIS-certified phone also has FM Radio, torch, and a one-year warranty.

The Viva V1 comes preloaded with the Snake game

The Viva V1 feature phone sports a 1.4-inch monochrome display, a keypad, and a 650mAh battery. The interesting bit is that it comes preloaded with the much-loved Snake game that was last seen on Nokia 3310. The single-SIM device has all basic features like phonebook, calculator, calendar, and torch. The phone can be bought in blue and orange colors for Rs. 349.

The Peace P3310 features 1.4-inch display, 850mAh battery

The Peace P3310 phone features a 1.4-inch display, an 850mAh battery, and 2G functionality. The single-SIM phone has a bar design, FM Radio and LED torch. It can be bought in orange color from ShopClues at a discounted price of Rs. 349. Originally costing Rs. 499, Peace P3310 gets a one-year manufacturer warranty as well.

Features phones are defining the mobile handset industry

"This is a defining moment for the mobile handset sector. Contrary to popular belief, feature phones do it all, fulfilling all needs of communication, entertainment and information search for their audience," Raunak Raheja, Senior Director, ShopClues, said in a statement.
