Google experiments with audio overviews for search results

Google just launched Audio Overviews, a new Search Labs feature that uses Gemini AI to turn certain search results into quick, conversational audio explainers. It's available now for US English users on both mobile and desktop—perfect if you want a fast intro to something or prefer listening over reading.

TL;DR

How to generate audio overview for your search

When you search topics like "how do noise cancelation headphones work," look for the "Generate Audio Overview" button. Tap it, wait up to 40 seconds, and you'll get an audio summary that can last a few minutes.

What the player lets you do?

The built-in player lets you pause, adjust volume, mute, or change playback speed (from super slow 0.25x up to 2x). You'll also see sources for the info and can send feedback on the summaries.

Audio overviews vs daily listen

Unlike Daily Listen—which gives daily news updates based on your interests—Audio Overviews are real-time summaries made for whatever you're searching right now. Both features are free in Search Labs.
