Google Maps gets AI chatbot and immersive 3D experience
Google Maps has dropped two big updates: Ask Maps, which uses Gemini AI so you can ask stuff like where to charge a dying phone without having to wait in a long line for coffee and get real answers, and Immersive Navigation, which gives you a smoother 3D view for getting around.
Both features aim to make finding your way easier and more interactive.
Maps can now talk to you
Ask Maps is live now on Android and iOS in the US and India (desktop coming soon), letting you chat with Maps for travel tips or pit stop ideas.
Immersive Navigation brings detailed 3D visuals, natural voice guidance, traffic updates, parking info, and even alerts about road disruptions.
As Google's Miriam Daniel puts it, these upgrades are all about making travel simpler, so you can spend less time stressing over directions and more time on the move.
