Google Maps just got a travel upgrade
Google Maps is rolling out four new features to make getting around easier and a bit more fun.
You'll now get Gemini-powered local tips, a smarter EV charger finder, a refreshed Explorer tab for discovering cool spots, and even some holiday-themed ways to personalize your reviews.
The updates are coming out in phases worldwide.
What's new and when you'll see it
Gemini integration gives you handy "know before you go" info for restaurants and hotels—US users on Android and iOS get this first.
The Explorer tab is getting global updates this month, showing off curated lists of things to do and places to eat nearby.
Next week, an AI-powered EV charger locator will estimate charger availability when you arrive, rolling out first to Android Auto and vehicles with Google built-in, with a global release expected.
