Google Maps's new power saving mode: More drive, less drain
Technology
Google Maps just dropped a "Power Saving mode" for the Pixel 10 series (including Pro, XL, and Fold models) as part of its November 2025 update.
It's built to help your phone last longer during navigation—just press the power button while navigating and you're set.
How it works
The mode strips things down to basics: only key directions and your route show up on screen.
Floating buttons, Gemini, and speed indicators are all hidden to save energy.
Worth using?
Google says you can get up to four extra hours of navigation with this feature on.
It's switched on by default but easy to toggle in Maps settings if you want.
If you're driving long distances with a Pixel 10 device, this could be a real lifesaver—but for now, it's just for the latest Pixels.
