About the Made by Google 2019 event

  • The Made by Google 2019 event, scheduled for today i.e. October 15, will kick off at 7AM in New York City or 7:30PM in India. Those interested in knowing about the latest products can catch all the live-action via the 'Made by Google' YouTube channel.

Google Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL: The showstoppers
  • Over the past several weeks, several hands-on images, leaked renders, and official teasers have confirmed that the Pixel 4-series will feature a notch-less display with slim bezels on three sides and a chunky "forehead" design.

Google has favored a thick top bezel to house a bunch of sensors and gadgetry. On the rear, a new monochrome glass panel will house a square-shaped dual-camera system.

  • All about the screen

Pixel 4, 4XL to offer 90Hz OLED displays

  • Going by a recent leak, the Pixel 4 will feature a 5.7-inch full-HD+ OLED screen while the XL model will get a sharper 6.3-inch QHD+ OLED display.

The screens on both the handsets will also support dynamic 60-90Hz "Smooth Display" as well as "Ambient EQ" (sort of auto-brightness?). However, this high refresh rate will allow for smoother scrolling, fluid animations, and better gaming experience.

  • The Pixel 4 duo will come with a dual-lens rear camera with a 12MP dual-pixel standard lens and a 16MP telephoto lens. On the front, the handsets will come with a single 8MP selfie snapper.

And like always, this hardware will be aided by computational photography features like Night Sight, Astrophotography, and Dual Exposure Camera Controls that'll help you adjust live exposure and highlights.

  • Information

Pixel 4 will also support touchless gestures and face unlock

  • As for some other interesting highlights, the Pixel 4 handsets will support touchless gestures via radar-based Motion Sense, 3D face unlock for secure unlocking and payments, the ability to detect car crashes, as well as an on-device Google Assistant for faster responses.

  • Alongside the Pixel 4 and Pixelbook Go, Google will also launch a Nest Mini. The smart speaker will look a lot like the Home Mini but with a body-colored underside, a wall mount grove, as well as Bluetooth 5.0 and Wi-Fi 802.11a/c for connectivity.

  • Reportedly, Google is also expected to launch its first-ever smartwatch alongside other products. Presently dubbed as Pixel Watch, the wearable is likely to run on Wear OS or debut a new hybrid technology that Google acquired from Fossil in January.

Some other products that we expect to see are a pair of truly-wireless Pixel Buds 2 and some cool looking Pixel 4 cases.
