Google updates Pixel 11 camera with launch mode, quick access
Google just rolled out some handy updates for the Pixel 11 camera app: redesigned "Quick access" sliders and a new "Launch mode."
Published Friday, August 21, 2026, these features include Quick access, which was disabled out of the box on our Pixel 11 devices, but your results may vary, and Launch mode, whose default is still photo.
The goal? Smoother, faster control so you can jump into your favorite camera modes without fuss.
Quick access dials and launch mode
The updated "Quick access" sliders now use dial controls on each side of the screen, just tap to reveal them and slide up or down to adjust settings with values.
You can customize which dials show up, and there's even an undo button if you change your mind.
Plus, with "Launch mode," you can set the camera to open straight into video or Magic Capture instead of always starting in photo mode, making it easier to get the shot you want right away.
