Google's Gemini AI enhances spreadsheet functionality
Google just made Sheets smarter—now you can use Gemini AI to whip up ad copy, summarize feedback, or sort data right inside your spreadsheet.
It's all about making your workflow smoother and saving you time.
How to use Gemini AI in Google Sheets
Just type a formula like =AI("Write ad copy...", A2:C2) in Sheets, and Gemini AI handles the rest.
It can process up to 200 cells at once, but only spits out text (no images or fancy formatting).
It works on one range at a time and doesn't peek into your whole Drive.
Who can access this feature?
This feature is rolling out to Google Workspace business and enterprise users, Gemini AI Pro/Ultra subscribers, and education plan members.
So if you're on one of these plans, keep an eye out!
Gemini vs Microsoft Excel's Copilot
Unlike Microsoft Excel's Copilot—which focuses more on formulas—Gemini lets you create actual text in your spreadsheet cells using natural language prompts.
That means more creative power directly where you work.
