In pictures: Comet Lemmon shines over Bengaluru

On a recent Saturday evening, Bengaluru got a brief view of Comet Lemmon appearing over the western horizon. This green comet—straight from the outer Solar System—made for an unusual city sighting.
Astrophotographer Deepak Choudhary managed to snap its brief appearance with his telescope and camera, making the moment last even after the comet faded.

Discovered just this January by Mount Lemmon Observatory, Comet Lemmon has been visible with binoculars across the Northern Hemisphere as it moves closer to the Sun.
Its signature green glow (thanks to diatomic carbon) stood out even against Bengaluru's bright lights—a reminder that you can still catch cosmic surprises in city skies if you're watching closely.
