India seeks Russian collaboration under $730 million National Quantum Mission
India wants to join forces with Russia to work on quantum computing as part of its $730 million National Quantum Mission.
The goal? Build advanced quantum computers by 2031 and communication networks, creating a strong homegrown tech scene.
At the first BRICS Quantum Technologies Forum in Moscow, Indian Ambassador to Russia Vinay Kumar emphasized that tackling big tech challenges is easier when countries collaborate.
BRICS nations boost joint quantum research
The partnership would connect India's top IIT-led tech hubs with Russia's growing quantum research scene: Russia unveiled its first 50-qubit quantum computer prototype in December 2024.
BRICS nations also agreed to boost joint research and training, hoping these efforts will spark innovation and help all member countries stay competitive in next-generation technology.
