Indian startup Agnikul Cosmos reveals plans for reusable rocket
Indian startup Agnikul Cosmos just revealed plans for a reusable rocket—think SpaceX's Falcon 9, but made in India.
Announced at the International Astronautical Congress 2025, their tech is already patented in the US, Europe, and India.
This move puts them in the race for more eco-friendly and affordable space launches.
Agnikul's approach to space travel
Agnikul is using semi-cryogenic fuel and a clever launch vehicle-satellite combo to keep costs down and make rockets easier to reuse.
They've even built their own autopilot software (which has passed real-world tests) and have support from ISRO and IN-SPACe.
With a new 3D-printing facility in Chennai dedicated to aerospace parts, Agnikul hopes their upcoming Agnibaan rocket flight will be a big step toward greener, cheaper space travel—something co-founder Moin SPM says is essential for the commercial viability of small rockets in India.
