YouTube now lets you hide those annoying end-screen pop-ups

Technology

YouTube is rolling out a handy new feature: you will soon be able to temporarily hide those end-screen pop-ups that show up at the end of videos.
These are the boxes creators use to promote other content, but they often cover up key parts of the video.
The option will be available soon and must be activated for each video individually.

How to hide the recommendations

Just tap the "Hide" button in the top-right corner while watching, and all those recommendation boxes will disappear. Want them back? Hit "Show" and they'll reappear.
YouTube says their tests showed this barely affects view counts—less than a 1.5% drop—so creators can still get their content seen.
This update comes after global testing earlier this year, aiming to make watching videos feel less cluttered for everyone.
