India's 1st private PSLV set for 2026 launch

Technology

India's gearing up to launch its first privately built Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle (PSLV) in early 2026—a bit later than planned, thanks to some satellite prep delays.
The rocket is being put together by a team-up of Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd. (HAL) and Larsen & Toubro (L&T), who are already sending key parts over to ISRO.

What's next for India's space game

The debut mission, PSLV-N1, will carry the EOS-10 earth observation satellite and marks a big step for India's private space sector.
HAL and L&T plan to make five rockets under this deal, with the option for more if needed.
For now, ISRO handles what goes up and when, but there are plans for a dedicated commercial launch pipeline once things get rolling—showing just how fast India's space industry is opening up to new players.
