Instagram gets more local with 5 new Indian languages
Instagram just got friendlier for Indian users—Meta is rolling out translation support for Bengali, Kannada, Marathi, Tamil, and Telugu on the app.
Announced at the House of Instagram event in Mumbai, this update means you will soon be able to see Reels translated into these languages alongside English, Hindi, Spanish, and Portuguese.
Fresh dubbing and lip-sync tools for creators
As the feature rolls out, creators will be able to dub their Reels in these five new languages while keeping their original voice style.
Plus, a new lip-sync feature makes sure translated audio lines up with mouth movements for a smoother look.
Edits app gets regional script support soon
Instagram's Edits app is also getting an upgrade—it'll soon let you style text in Assamese, Bengali, Hindi, and Marathi using Devanagari or Bengali-Assamese scripts.
Rolling out first on Android devices based on your language settings, this makes it easier to create content that feels truly local.
